Why not wait to make this decision closer to fair time?

While we would like to see what the circumstances would be closer to fair, it is a fact that our fair takes weeks of planning to host the number of events that we do. Waiting to make this decision closer to fair would make it very difficult to create a fair that is up to the standard of entertainment and safety that we hope to provide to our fairgoers. By canceling at this time, we are able to decide what is best for our exhibitors, supporters, staff, and community.

Are there other plans for 2020?

While this year’s fair will only have the 4-H and FFA portions, the Fair Board is looking at ways we can bring more events to the community later this summer as safety concerns ease.

What if I already purchased tickets to Jon Pardi, Brett Eldredge, or Hairball?

We are working with each artist to see if we can reschedule for the 2021 fair. More information will be coming soon to ticket holders. And will come directly via email from Etix.

Is there a way that I can support the Delaware County Fair?

Hosting a 4H/FFA Fair will require an outlay of funds without the ability to bring in income. If you’d like to help support this show, please contact the office at 563.927-6449

Did you consider modifying the Fair to have safer precautions and do social distancing in an effort to have the fair?

The decision for canceling the fair did not come lightly and was only made after all possible alternatives were looked at, for providing a safe and healthy fair. However, these options were not feasible to continue to have our fair to the extent that we strive to provide to our fairgoers.

Why can’t the fair be postponed to later in the fall?

Our fairgrounds function as an event center all year round, making it difficult to schedule a later date. Also, many of our partners are from outside the community and make it difficult to coordinate their schedules for the same date.

Who made this decision?

The final decision was made by the Delaware County Fair Society’s Board of Directors with guidance from Department of Public Health, Emergency Management, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, and the Delaware County Attorney.

When will you start announcing information about the 2021 Fair?

The 2021 Delaware County Fair will take place July 12-18. More information will be announced soon.
